Tenth Day of Christmas Sampler & Tree Hello from Liz Mathews Cross Stitch Pattern

“on the tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me 10 lords a leaping…"

When the traditional lyrics had me stumped for designs I decided to get creative and use the ultimate lord of Christmas- Santa, as my muse! You can see him leaping over a sleeping village as gifts and Christmas magic (represented by metallic thread) spill from his overflowing sack!

Sampler Stitch Count: 97 x 132
Tree Stitch Count: 111 wide x 149 high
Sampler Fabric: 40 count Fog linen from Picture This Plus
Tree Fabric: 36 count “Sapphire” from Fiber on a Whim



Sampler Threads: NPI 998, 205, 122, 693, 964, 962, 694, 774, 183, 866, 321, 256, 342, 324, 184A (Blanc DMC will ne needed, too)
Tree Threads:  
DMC 310, 356, 407, 422, 646, 648, 680, 780, 840, 355, 926, 936, 3012, 3768, 08, 3866
Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid Metallic thread in PB04 (silver) was used on both pieces. 

Designer notes:
Because this designs includes a lot of white stitches it's important to choose a fabric that's dark enough for the white stitches to be seen. I stitched the sampler on “Fog” linen, which did not have enough contrast, and for that reason I found it necessary to back stitch around those areas using one strand of gray thread. This back stitching is not charted. 
 
When I started designing this series I committed to doing all 12 samplers on the same fabric so that stitchers could stitch them as one piece if they choose, which is why I didn't change the linen for this release but do recommend choosing a fabric with more contrast.  
 

▶WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE: This pattern is a physical copy that will be mailed from me to you.  Your pattern will include a cover sheet, stitching notes, and a black and white chart that's easy to see.
